Yes, Joon, I know.
Hasn't been much to talk about lately, but I guess I could mention a few things.
The mother unit is going to have to undergo surgery. Basically she has a corn or something on one of her toes that couldn't be simply cut off since it's fused to the bone. That was my understanding. I am always worried about my mother, and will probably be even more so as the date nears. I'm sure everything will be fine, but people are going to be cutting into the most important person in my life and that worries me.
Tonight she and I will be driving to Hemet to meet with the father of (or someone related to) my sister's boyfriend that she's living with in Idaho. She's been asking us to send her computer up to her, but we really didn't have the funds to do that. So, by a stroke of luck, his father (or relative) is going to be in the area and offered to take the stuff up to her. We'll be buying her some cheap new speakers as an extra present, which I think is a bad idea because then she'll be able to blast her shitty music up there which will make them want to send her back down here even quicker. Ho ho ho.
Kingdom Hearts II is coming out two days before my birthday. So thanks to whoever organized that. Remy, maybe? You sly dog.

With gusto!
I was awoken rather harshly at 10 this morning by a shrill cry of "JEFF!" coming through my bedroom window. My response, naturally, was to scream like a little girl. It was Davey, who had seen fit to partially break-and-enter (only his right arm shall be convicted) to rouse me from my slumber. He said he was coming over, but "coming over" implies a time when I will be up and functioning on my own, and not dreaming about hot chicks who reject me even in my twisted fantasy realm.
Anyways, he came in, and we got to sitting around doing nothing. For a good while, too. We eventually got around to contacting Remy to join us in our shenanigans, said shenanigans being going out somewhere to get food. There was a bit of a debate on where to go, but we setlled on In to the Out, which is never a bad choice.
After that it was somehow suggested that we go pester the Lloyds, who we like to pester just to keep them in line. Austin was the only one around when we got there. Well, actually, Garrett was sleeping, but we changed that quick. Somehow, we'd managed to stumble in on their aunt's birthday, so we were treated to delicious foodstuffs the likes of which I have not tasted in some time and probably won't taste again for a long while. We got to see a puppy fight (oh the hilarity) and play several rounds of SSBM. I also got to see Chase, which is a rarity in this day and age. He is like an elusive beetle that can only be seen when you arrive at its house when it's not there and hang out until it comes home from working at an elementary school or whatever.
Also, and this is rather humorous (kinda sad, too), my mother thought I was dead since she hadn't heard from me all day. My mother knows my friends are prone to spontaneously popping up and dragging me out to get food, so I don't know why she reacted this way. I suppose it's because she's a mother, and I'm not in what could be called a healthy physical condition by any standard, so she assumed the worst. Still, I felt bad for making her feel that way. Nothing hurts like knowing someone you love has been worried about you.
I predict that tomorrow will be infinitely more boring than today.

A few weeks back the managers sprung on us the fact that they are installing new garage doors with garage door openers. This would be great if we actually parked the car in the garage. We actually park to the side of it, where we were told not to park, despite the fact that there is a quite noticable engraving on the nearby wall which reads "THIS SPOT RESERVED FOR 17B (where we live)". Whatever. So, since they are installing these doors in mid-February, we have been instructed to clear out the garage entirely. Now I kinda wish we did use it for parking, since it's much easier to back a car out than it is to move several heavy boxes full of crap we haven't unpacked yet, not to mention all the beer bottles and discarded cigarettes from when my sister and her boyfriend were living in there (no joke). So, yeah, I got a bit of exercise today. Still got a bit more to clear out but the tough stuff's done.
I realize that's a very boring paragraph, but frankly I'm just happy that I have something to post other than "this game is cool" or "this game is REALLY cool." I lead a very uneventful existence, but that's how I likes it.

So, I'm posting. Calm yourself, Joon.
Last week, Remy decided to stop by and hang out for a short time. Games were played, fun was had, and eventually we went out for food at A&W, which is swiftly becoming my new favorite "go-to" place. Good food at a reasonable price. Plus, it's also a KFC. So it's a win-win situation. And later, we went to Krispy Kreme for the most delicious pastries known to man. Mmmm.
Aside from that, not much else has been going on. I actually talked with Ryan, whom I have not spoken with since last year, so that was a surprise. Apparently my previous theory that he was a wine-sipping hedonistic vagabond proved untrue. There was talk of pancakes of the endless variety, so we'll see if that pans out (I'm so witty). Since he said that he still keeps up with my journal, let me use this opportunity to say: HI RYAN! I MISSED YOU!
DMC3:SE drops next week and it will be superb. It will probably end up being my game of the year for 2006 as well, if by some off-chance Kingdom Hearts 2 and Legend of Zelda both suck horribly. Hey, it could happen. Remember DMC2? No, of course you don't.
If you'll excuse me, I need to water some plants, rearrange some furniture, and earn some money. Oh, Animal Crossing, I adore you so.

Thanks, Joon. You have awoken the slumbering beast.
Not much to report, unfortunately. 2006 has been uneventful for the most part. Having fun with Animal Crossing. Nook's a crook (120,000 bells for an upgrade? Nook, please!) and Limberg is a pimp. You better believe it, squinky.
There has been talk going around of my mom buying a new car (or a new used car) which makes me wonder why the hell we need one. Ours runs, and I can fit in it, so what's the problem? She has told me that if she gets a new car that I could have the old one, but that would require getting a job, paying for insurance, and learning to drive, and we all know what the odds are of all those happening are. One? Yeah, maybe. Two? Stranger things have happened. All three? It would have to be a full moon on a night Halley's Comet was visible during a leap year. So, not for a while.
And that's all he wrote. Part of me misses Chase's journal and the other part just misses Chase. Oh, you magnificent bastard.

So here we are, at the close of another year. I could go on and on about the events that happened this year, but there was really only a couple interesting developments, and you probably know what those are (if you know me) so just go back and read those journal entries if you so desire. All I can say is that I hope 2006 will finish what 2005 started, in regards to me being employed. I know I can do it. I just need to get over my ridiculous fears and actually get out there.
As is customary, I shall now rattle off my favorite 10 games from the year, starting with #10:
( Best Games of 2005 )
So, yeah, there you have it, whatever. I know everyone has a boner for RE4 but I didn't play that game because I'm a pussy. Go figure.
Well, this is the last post of 2005. Here's to a bright and memorable 2006.
Happy New Year, everyone.

Well, today's trip to EB was not without merit. Animal Crossing? Nope. Shadow of the Colossus? Nope. Used copy of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney? Yes please! You may recall a while back that I was first introduced to this fine game thanks to good sir Joon, who buys every game known to man. So when I saw it for $20, I had to have it. To be honest, it's a pretty linear game. You go down a set path, and while you get to make your own decisions from time to time, usually there's only one right way to go. Despite this, it's got a ton of personality, and it requires you to really think about your case and the evidence you decide to present. Great game, so pick it up if you can find a copy. I understand there are many more games in the series, and I hope they'll bring them over in due time. Edgeworth is such a pimp.
Thankfully, my USB Wi-fi thing shipped, so that might get here before the post office takes a two-day break, but I doubt it. Nevertheless, I should be online with teh DS eventually. As for Animal Crossing, apparently EB is supposed to get another shipment of those next week, so we'll see.
It's late. I just finished the third chapter of Phoenix Wright, been playing it pretty nonstop since I got it. Talk about getting sucked in. Bed now, Friday tomorrow, nothing this weekend apparently.

I ordered one of those Nintendo Wi-Fi adapters so hopefully it'll arrive by the end of the week if I'm lucky (note: I'm not lucky). Still no luck with Animal Crossing. Another bit of good news is that I won't have to pay to replace our broken screen door, the management is gracious enough to do it at no additional cost. Man, these guys are awesome.
Is there anything happening in regards to celebrating the new year? Usually an event of that caliber demands some sort of "gathering" or "get-together." Just a thought.

Though today was the dreaded "Day After Christmas," I decided to brave the throngs of humans craving material possessions and find myself a Nintendo DS w/ Mario Kart bundle. Since I'd received a $50 giftcard for Circuit City, I thought it would be wisest to check there first. I was rewarded greatly: though they did not have a copy of Animal Crossing, they did, in fact, have a Nintendo DS w/ Mario Kart bundle, which I have instantly fallen in love with. Mario Kart DS is a truly wonderful piece of electronic entertainment. It's like they took everything I loved from previous games (hopping, unlockable characters, selectable karts), threw in online (which I've yet to try, thanks to a lack of any wireless internet), and delivered it unto the masses. I just unlocked Waluigi and he drives a tractor for some reason? Hilarity.
After the DS was procured from Circuit City, I tried checking in the nearby Gamestop to see if they had Animal Crossing. I waited about half-an-hour in line (apparently everyone was freaking out over a "Buy 3 Used Games, Get 1 Free" deal) to discover that no, they didn't have any. Disappointment. Still, I did overhear some humorous things from stressed-out soccer moms waiting in line both ahead of and behind me:
"Game Boy Advance, is that like an Xbox?"
...and...
"I'm looking for the new Game Boy...*clerk points at Game Boy Micro*...no, not that, the other one...*clerk points at Nintendo DS*...no, it's the new one that can play DVDs and such...*clerk points at PSP*...yes, that's the one."
Uneducated masses amuse me.
So, tomorrow there will be more searching for the elusive Animal Crossing, as well as ordering the USB Wireless Adapter so I can smack down fools online. After those two purchases, I will be holding on to the remainder of my money to fix the screen door which I accidentally broke a week or so ago. After that...the sky's the limit, I suppose.

I remember, when I was a kid, how I looked forward to Christmas. December seemed to drag on forever. Now, Christmas seems to sneak up on me every year. "What, Christmas is this weekend? Well, shit." Funny how that works.
Anyways, here's hoping that all of you get some of the stuff you asked for this year. Have a good one
EDIT (X-MAS DINNER AFTERMATH): So tonight was the typical "go to a relative's house, eat food, and get presents from relatives living in Arizona." The food was good, and I walked away with shaving gel, deluxe peanuts (how did they know?!) and $80. Not too shabby.
Tomorrow comes the good stuff.

The mom and I finally heard about our cleaning deposit from our old place, and we actually ended up getting some of our money back from them. We left the place in such disarray (crap on the floor, dust everywhere, etc.) that we thought we weren't going to see any of it back, but apparently we were wrong. So we decided to head over to Mainplace and make some purchases. I got 40-Year-Old Virgin (best movie this year) so this Christmas season hasn't been a total loss. We also got our usual cash cards from our relatives up in New York, and while those are tempting to open just so we can spend spend spend, it wouldn't be right any time before Christmas. Go figure.
I would hope that there is going to be some sort of friendly X-mas get together sometime before the actual holiday so I can yell "HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESUS" with my buddies. It will be glorious.
